Down in the Valley
Arnold Schwarzenegger heads to the Valley today. The
Central Valley, that is, hotbed of Republican votes and
California conservatism. As he makes his tour of local
farms, charter schools and open air markets, he will be
doing so without the area's popular state senator,
Republican Charles Poochigian. The fact that Poochigian is
not there in person is no big surprise. He is in
Sacramento, in the center of a huge fight over workers'
compensation reform. But Schwarzenegger is also making his
way through the Valley without Poochigian's
