--(BUSINESS WIRE)

National Corn Growers Association The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) is a U.S. national organization founded in 1957, representing more than 33,000 dues-paying corn growers from 48 states and the interests of more than 300,000 farmers who contribute to corn checkoff programs in 20 states.

''Working together for solutions ... ethanol''

Officials from the California Renewable Fuels Renewable fuels are alternative fuel sources such as ethanol, biodiesel (e.g. soy, vegetable oils, animal fats, or recycled restaurant greases) or hydrogen, in contrast to non-renewable fuels such as natural gas, LPG (propane).  Partnership, the National Corn Growers Association and other energy experts will be meeting the week of October 22 with California state officials and California agricultural groups to discuss options for best addressing California's current energy situation. The purpose of the meetings is to:
-- Gain a better understanding of the energy situation in California

-- Discuss the role and importance of ethanol and renewables in meeting the
state's energy needs

-- Discuss the ethanol production opportunities in California

-- Discuss the ethanol production capacity in the Midwest and the options for
distribution to California
