WHAT: Center for Keratoconus presents first Magic for Sight Gala Fundraiser. Proceeds will help provide surgery for those inflicted with Keratoconus and fund research. The Center hopes to raise awareness and educate the public concerning the causes and possible ways to relieve Keratoconus. Thought to be genetic, Keratoconus is a condition in which the cornea (the clear front window of the eye) becomes thin and protrudes. Keratoconus literally means cone-shaped cornea. This abnormal shape can cause serious distortion of vision and may eventually lead to blindness if not diagnosed and treated properly.

WHO: Robert Gavin founded the Center for Keratoconus in 1999. An actor, Gavin starred in the popular ABC television series Land of the Lost as well as guest starring on Baywatch. Gavin himself has Keratoconus. K Center's scientific and medical team includes specialists at: UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles
