    WHAT: This year the event benefits the San Jose Unified School District's Homeless Assistance Program, and Atypical Infant Motivation, Inc. (AIM). The San Jose Unified School District's Homeless Assistance Program provides outreach and access to educational and social services for the approximately 600 or more district students who are homeless.     Proceeds from Stars & Strikes will be used to complete the renovations on the AIM facility in San Jose, and provide two years of funding for the Homeless Assistance Program. Children from AIM will be in attendance at Stars & Strikes.

    WHEN: The action begins at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998. The awards and check presentation ceremony is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.

    WHERE: Pastimes (formerly Oakridge Lanes), 5420 Thornwood Drive in San Jose 408/578-8500.

    Directions: Take the 880 to Highway 85 heading south. Exit Santa Theresa Blvd. Turn right on Santa Theresa, then turn right on Thornwood Dr.

    Pastimes is located directly behind Oakridge Mall.
