IT Horizons: Preparing for a Paperless Industry will take place at the Orlando Marriott, Orlando, Florida, Wednesday, November 15, 2000.

Picking up where last year's popular "Pathways to the 21st Century" series left off, IT Horizons will provide an insightful look at the future of the behavioral and public healthcare industries, and how advances in information technology will improve working conditions and client treatment. CMHC Systems is pleased to welcome Dr. Ronald Mandershcheid and Henry Yennie as guest speakers.

Dr. Manderscheid, Chief of the Survey and Analysis Branch at the Center for Mental Health Services, served as the Policy Advisor on National Health Care Reform in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He has also served as editor of Mental Health, United States and as Chairperson of the Mental Health Section of the American Public Health Association. Joining Dr. Manderscheid will be Marilyn Henderson, Assistant Chief of the Survey and Analysis Branch at the CMHS.

Henry Yennie, MSW, BCSW, has extensive experience developing successful managed care integrated delivery network and information systems. A Senior Consultant with WES Group, Inc., Henry was Vice President of managed care services for the behavioral health division of a large southern healthcare system and he has managed a multi-program, community-based children's behavioral health care organization. He has also published articles on information system requirements, serves on national policy committees, and is a board-certified social worker.

CMHC Systems will demonstrate the progress and new functionality offered through its core product, the CMHC/MIS, and IT Horizons will provide a clear illustration of the company's proactive response to the rapid changes in the industry as well as strategic positioning to address emerging healthcare and IT trends. IT Horizons will examine business plan development, state and federal legislative mandates affecting the industry, and other "hot" topics including the electronic medical record and digital signature.
