of Our Place Daycare, a refuge for homeless children in

Seattle. Our Place Daycare is moving from a cramped

900-square-foot Central Area facility to a

3,000-square-foot building nearby. The facility needs

extensive repairs and updating, and as part of an annual

tradition Craig McCaw Craig McCaw (b. August 11, 1949 in Centralia, Washington) is the second of four sons of Marion and John Elroy McCaw. The Seattle-area businessman and entrepreneur achieved success as a pioneer in the cellular phone industry.  began at McCaw Cellular, Teledesic

has adopted Our Place Daycare as this year's community

project. McCaw is Teledesic's chairman.

Coordinating the construction effort for Teledesic is

Foushee and Associates, the prime contractor of tenant

improvements Teledesic is making to a Bellevue warehouse

that will be its future home. The company and more than

a dozen suppliers, including plumbers and electricians,

have donated countless hours and considerable resources

to prepare the new Our Place building for the arrival of

the Teledesic team. On Nov. 19, the team will paint,

build a deck, fences and benches, remove rubble,

landscape and more. The facility is expected to be ready

for move-in by early 1999.

70-120 children annually. In addition to a stable, safe

environment, the center offers medical and mental health

services and supports the homeless families as a whole.
