(Oct. 20) --(BUSINESS WIRE) ONE FUN, MUDDY KIDS EVENT: What: Get ready to see a bunch of kids get dirty, WITH their parents' permission. The Brooks Muddy Buddy(R) Ride & Run Series is stopping in San Jose on October 20 for its first annual kids event. This is one wild race where all participants are encouraged to get muddy. Where: The 3/4-mile Jamba Juice Mini Muddy Buddy(R) will take place at Almaden Lake Park at 10:30 a.m. following the 9 a.m. adult competition. Details: There are three obstacles on the kids' course including the Brooks Muddy Buddy(R) mud pit. The 3/4-mile course loops around the compound area where all of the finish line activities for the adult event will take place. The Jamba Juice Mini Muddy Buddy(R) will be divided into two divisions: Age 6-10 year old division: Both team members will run the entire course and complete obstacles as a team. Age 11 & 12-year-old division: One team member bikes while the other runs and they switch at the obstacle points. For example, the biker drops his bike and completes the hay bales and continues as the runner. The runner goes through the hay bales and continues as the biker. Adult event: The one-of-a-kind 2002 Brooks Muddy Buddy(R) Ride and Run adult team competition will take place at Almaden Lake Park on October 20 at 9 a.m. The race consists of teams of two running and biking through 10 kilometers of trails, challenging obstacles and the infamous Muddy Buddy(R) mud pit.
