ADVISORY...for Saturday Saturday: see week; Sabbath. , May 31

--(BUSINESS WIRE)

Aircraft Retraces Path of Original 1928 Flight with Stop in Honolulu

WHAT: On May 31, 1928, four men in a three-engine airplane were
the first to conquer the Pacific. Two Australian pilots,
Charles Kingsford-Smith and Charles Ulm, assisted by two
Americans, Harry Lyon and James Warner, made the dramatic
flight across the Pacific Ocean, flying from Oakland,
California, to Brisbane, Australia, in three legs via
Honolulu and Fiji. In commemoration of this distance-
breaking event -- the first of now many millions of
transpacific flights -- Qantas Airways will celebrate the
arrival of its newest Boeing 737-800 at Honolulu
International Airport on May 31, 2003, exactly 75 years
later. The aircraft retraces the flight path of the
original historic flight to Sydney, Australia on this
          memorable 75th anniversary voyage.

Endorsed by the Centennial of Flight Celebration Commission,
Fijian Consul General, Australian American Chamber of
Commerce, Aviation Museum of the Pacific, and The Western
Aerospace Museum, the 75th anniversary celebration will
feature the arrival of the Qantas aircraft at the Honolulu
International Airport, traditional lei greeting for the
flight crew, reception and ceremony at the Qantas Lounge for
dignitaries, VIPs and invited guests. This historic
celebration in Honolulu should be forever remembered as a
          significant part of aviation history.
