WHAT: The Black Farmers and Agriculturalists Association (BFAA) and
United Farmers of America (UFA) will join forces to host an
organizational rally protesting what they cite as continued
discrimination against black farmers from the United States
government and Ann Veneman, agriculture secretary of the USDA.
The event is expected to draw several thousand farmers from
Richmond and surrounding states. Subsequent rallies will be
held in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Florida, North Carolina,
South Carolina, and Tennessee. A massive march in
Washington, D.C. is scheduled for Spring 2004.
