Bishop T.D. Jakes will join other ministry leaders from across Texas at the Governor's Prayer Service in Austin on Tuesday, January 21, 2003. Jakes will be offering the "Pastoral Prayer" as well as the Benediction for this service. The prayer service is scheduled at 10 a.m. prior to the other inaugural activities.

"I will be praying that God will give Governor Rick Perry divine wisdom as he continues the task of leading the State of Texas through a challenging time in American history," said Bishop T.D. Jakes. "I will be praying for a practical, pragmatic approach to leadership that responds with sensitivity to the diverse concerns and ever-increasing needs within our state."
