This year's Best Buy-sponsored NHL All-Star Game An all-star game is an exhibition game played by the best players in their sports league. The players are often chosen by a popular vote of fans of the sport and the game often occurs at the halfway point of the regular season, although this is not the case for some all-star games  weekend activities include:

Tuesday, Feb. 3 to Saturday, Feb. 7
Best Buy presents Hockey Theater at the NHL FANtasy
Saint Paul River Centre (175 West Kellogg; Saint Paul, Minn.)

Feb. 3 to Feb. 5     Best Buy showcases the advancement of
4 to 10 p.m.         high-definition television and its benefits at
                     the NHL FANtasy. Visitors experience first hand
Feb. 6 to Feb. 7     how the widescreen format and enhanced clarity
10 a.m. to 10 p.m.   impacts the hockey viewing experience. People

6 to 7:30 p.m.       Best Buy and NHL experts will be on hand to talk
                     about advancements in high-definition (HD)
                     television and the impact HDTV will have on the
                     game of hockey. At the free media-only event,
                     experts demonstrate the differences between HD
                     and non-HD television and answer questions such
                     as:

                       --  What steps is the NHL taking to make HD
                           broadcasting more readily available?

                       --  How can HD improve the home hockey viewing
                           experience?

                       --  What do consumers need for maximizing HD
                           signal and reception at home so they can
                           set up ideal home theater systems
                           (including picture, source, sound and
                           accessories)?

                       --  What is the future of the home hockey
                           viewing experience?

Saturday, Feb. 7
Best Buy Hosts Former North Stars Player Reunion
Best Buy Richfield (1000 W. 78th Street - 494 and Lyndale Ave.;
Richfield, Minn.)

11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In the shadow of the old Met Center, the Best Buy
                     Richfield store will host a North Stars player
                     reunion with Lou Nanne, Brian Bellows, Willi
                     Plett, Jack Carlson and Tom Reid. At the event,
                     local hockey fans can get a photo taken with the
                     hockey greats and reminisce about pre-Wild hockey
                     days.  No autographs will be signed at this
                     event.

    (a) As the Best Buy corporate campus events on Friday, Feb. 6 are
secure and not open to the public, a limited number of TV crews,
photographers and reporters are welcome. Please call in advance if you
are interested in attending.
