Best Buy, the nation's leading specialty retailer of consumer electronics, personal computers, entertainment software and appliances, will host a number of events at its Richfield store to celebrate the October 25th availability of Windows XP The previous client version of Windows. XP was a major upgrade to the client version of Windows 2000 with numerous changes to the user interface. XP improved support for gaming, digital photography, instant messaging, wireless networking and sharing connections to the Internet. , Microsoft's highly anticipated new PC operating system. Windows XP software, in both Home Edition and Professional, hits the shelves in all Best Buy stores Thursday at 10 a.m.

All events are scheduled to take place at the Best Buy store in Richfield, 1000 W. 78th St. (East of 35W at I-494 and Lyndale Ave.)

Thursday, October 25

-- 10 a.m. eXPress breakfast

The first customers of the day will be served hot cross buns, eXPresso, and other treats in order to "fuel up" for their new Windows XP experience.
