      What: Best Buy, North America's leading specialty retailer of
        consumer electronics, personal computers, entertainment
        software and appliances, will celebrate the opening of the
        Blossom Hill location at 10 a.m. Friday, March 1. The new
        store is located at 5065 Almaden Expressway.

          Best Buy shows commitment to youth through the Company's
        support of college scholarships, which reaches $1 million this
        year. Best Buy is proud to be the largest sponsor of "Dollars
        for Scholars", a national network of scholarship foundations.
        For the past three years Best Buy has sponsored "Dollars for
        Scholars" scholarships in each community where stores are
        located.

          Best Buy has hired approximately 150 full- and part-time
        employees to staff the new store in cashier, customer service,
        non-commissioned sales and management positions. The Blossom
        Hill store is one of approximately 60 new retail locations
        Best Buy will open across the country in 2002.

              The Best Buy Mascot will burst through the grand opening
            ribbon to inaugurate the new store.
