ADVISORY/BSA Survey Says Software Piracy is On the Rise.

Business Editors

ADVISORY...

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 24, 2001
TOPIC: A survey, recently released by the Business Software Alliance (BSA),
found the global software piracy rate rose last year for the first time in six
years, according to an article in eWEEK. In 2000, the global piracy rate rose
to 37 percent from 36 percent in 1999. The study shows that although North
America and Western Europe have the lowest piracy rates in the world, they are
not making progress in reducing software piracy, the article says. A spokesman
for the BSA stated the organization will be more aggressive in operating its
programs to reduce software piracy. EXPERTS: ExpertSource can offer several
