Hall Will Address Challenging Topics and Issues that

Affect the Artistic Community

WHO:        Panelists include: GRAMMY(R)-winning recording artist
            Clint Black; Emmy Award-winning songwriter Victoria Shaw;
            House Commerce Committee Member, U.S. Rep. Mary Bono
            (R-Calif.); House Entertainment Task Force Co-Chair, U.S.
            Rep. Mark Foley (R-Fla.); House Democratic Whip, U.S. Rep.
            Steny Hoyer (D-Md.); and Recording Academy(R) Chairman of
            the Board Daniel Carlin. Moderator: Recording Academy
            Senior Executive Director of Washington, D.C. Operations
            Daryl Friedman. Legendary recording artist and Country and
            Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Brenda Lee, Recording
            Academy President Neil Portnow, members of the Nashville
            music community, industry executives, and local
            politicians all will be in attendance.

WHAT:       A 60-minute forum, with moderated and audience Q&A.
            Expected topics include pending legislation in D.C. that
            affects the music community; file sharing and new business
            models; public education about the value of paying for
            music; radio reform; broadcast decency and artists'
            responsibility; public funding of the arts/arts education;
            and the artist as activist -- can artists make a
            difference?

            Part of the Academy's GRAMMY Cultural Policy Initiative,
            the GRAMMY Town Hall is the first in a series of
            high-level discussions with music industry leaders and
            policy makers tackling the industry's most challenging
            topics and important issues that affect the artistic
            environment. Launched late last year, the GRAMMY Cultural
            Policy Initiative is a major advocacy initiative designed
            to utilize the Recording Academy's unique resources to
            advance the rights of the music community through
            advocacy, education and dialogue. This event is exclusive
            to members of the Recording Academy; for membership
