WHAT:   US Secretary of Agriculture Ann M. Veneman will address over
        1,500 delegates on the topic of food safety at The Food Safety
        Summit today at 10:00 a.m. in the Cotillion Ballroom at the
        Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC.

          Secretary Veneman will discuss a variety of food and
        agricultural issues including food safety. This is an
        opportunity for the food industry participants to hear from
        the secretary in person and learn about her priorities and
        objectives for the Department of Agriculture.

          Throughout the two day Conference and Expo food manufacturers
        and processors have been discussing the very latest updates on
        new technologies, as well as regulatory and scientific issues
        in food safety. Informative discussions on Mad Cow Disease,
        Salmonella Testing, Managing Food Allergens and Genetically
        Modified Foods have been addressed. Conference sessions and
        exhibits focus on current and new solutions for producing
        safer food products, in a practical, non-technical format.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:

          --  A dynamic list of conference speakers includes food safety
            experts from Kraft, Pillsbury, Tropicana, Borden, M&M,
            Burger King, Marriott, Disney, General Mills, USDA and
            FDA.

          --  Over 150 vendors will showcase the latest solutions and
            services on a photogenic exhibit floor, including several
            new technologies never before seen in a public
            demonstration. Exhibits are open Wednesday, April 18,
            11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and the conference will be held from
            8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

          --  Special events include The Handwashing Olympics and The
            Rapid Testing 500, the "Indy 500 of microbiology."
