    WHAT:  Amersham Biosciences and Science magazine are pleased to
           announce the 7th Annual Prize for Young Scientists Award
           Ceremony and Luncheon at the National Press Club. The event
           will feature keynote speaker Dr. John H. Marburger III,
           Science Advisor to President Bush and Director, Office of
           Science and Technology Policy, who will discuss relevant
           issues surrounding scientific research and the
           importance of nurturing up-and-coming leaders in
           biotechnology, as well as those currently in the laboratory.

    WHY:   The prize was developed to recognize and reward outstanding
           post-doctoral scientists in the field of molecular biology.
           Amersham Biosciences and Science magazine believe that
           supporting scientists at the beginning of their career is
           critical for continued scientific progress.
