WHAT: Hundreds of horror movie fans will be screaming their heads off
in honor of their favorite monster movie airing on American
Movie Classics cable network.
WHY: Contestants will compete in a spine-tingling "It's a Scream
Contest," trying out their best monster movie scream at Scream
'98, a 16,000-square-foot haunted house in Simi Valley, Calif.,
for their chance to win a 53-inch Sony stereo "Big Scream" TV
to watch AMC's Halloween movie marathon, "Monsterfest: House of
Horrors." (Suggested retail value is $1,999!).
Before the "It's a Scream Contest," AMC and 102.7 KIIS-FM will
host a "Marriage Made in Hell" wedding ceremony. The ghoulish
bride and groom, Joshua Del Pozzo and Robin Carrier of Simi
Valley, who are huge horror movie fans, will come in
his-and-her monster costumes along with their ghostly wedding
party and guests to exchange macabre marriage vows at Scream
'98. AMC will present the newly married couple with a
"Honeymoon in Hell" in the Cayman Islands, including airfare
and hotel accommodations. 102.7 KIIS-FM nighttime personality
"Valentine" will be the "worst man" in the ceremony.
American Movie Classics unleashes "Monsterfest: House of
Horrors," a week-long Halloween festival airing Oct. 26 through
Nov. 1. Hosted by master director/producer/writer Tim Burton
from two real-life haunted houses, the festival will feature 25
classic horror films and the premiere of "Hollywood Ghost
Stories," an AMC original special chronicling the many ghosts,
haunted landmarks and otherworldly doings of Tinseltown.
