CEO. He has more than 20 years of management and technical experience
in the electronics and semiconductor industries. Prior to joining
Altera, Mr. Smith spent 13 years at Fairchild Semiconductor
Corporation and served as general manager and vice president of the
Linear division. He holds an I.E.R.E. (B.S.E.E. equivalent) degree
from Southampton College of Advanced Technology in the United Kingdom.
