WHAT: Kevin Thornton, president and CEO of Altawave Inc., a

environment, will deliver a presentation on the topic of
"The Future of the Internet Over Wireless Networks" at
the California Technology Forum Conference on Wednesday,
Aug. 1, 2001 in Santa Barbara, Calif. Thornton will
discuss various factors to consider when developing a
successful wireless Internet including the types of
devices being used and their capabilities (from legacy
handsets to advanced PDAs), as well as the wireless
networks being utilized from 2G to 3G and beyond. This
session will also explore how to provide mass

base of subscribers -- from everyday consumers to the
enterprise.
WHO: As a wireless industry professional and entrepreneur,
Thornton's nearly 20 years of high technology experience
includes the role as senior vice president and general
manager of the myAladdin.com service division of
NeoPoint Inc. Thornton also has held the position of
vice president of sales and marketing for RACOM Corp., a
Midwestern wireless carrier and while at RACOM, he
helped the company more than double its revenues in less
than two years. Thornton also headed the Internet
division at the San Francisco-area software firm,
Premenos, and held management positions with Sprint,
PARS/Worldspan, and Rockwell International.
