WHAT: Leading CDMA2000 1xEV-DO infrastructure provider Airvana,
Inc. (www.airvananet.com) is showcasing live 3G demonstrations
on multiple devices including mobile phones, laptop computers
and PDAs during the annual CTIA Wireless 2003 in New Orleans,
March 17-19, 2003.
Airvana is demonstrating a variety of mobile and fixed
applications over CDMA2000 1xEV-DO, from streaming video,
online gaming, and multimedia messaging to enterprise
applications such as wireless e-mail to video conferencing, at
speeds up to 2.4 Mbps. CDMA2000 1xEV-DO is backward compatible
with CDMA technologies including CDMA2000 1X voice and data and
delivers data rates capable of supporting intensive,
high-bandwidth applications such as digital imaging, audio and
video streaming, and corporate email with complex attachments.
Service providers are deploying CDMA2000 1xEV-DO worldwide as a
high-speed mobile data service for devices such as cell phones,
PDAs and laptops, or as a low cost alternative to cable and DSL
"broadband" data services for residential and SOHO customers.
CDMA2000 1xEV-DO can be deployed very inexpensively, either by
upgrading an existing base station with a channel card or by
overlaying the existing network with low cost CDMA2000 1xEV-DO
base stations. CDMA, TDMA, GSM and new "Greenfield" operators
all can deploy the technology.
WHO: Airvana, Inc. is a global leader in developing All-IP 3G Radio

mobile data standard, the company's All-IP products are
