All Wireless Traffic at the April 20 - 21
Trade Show In Santa Clara, Calif.
WHAT:
-- Jesse Frankel, director of systems engineering for AirMagnet,
the leader in wireless LAN security and performance solutions,
will lend his expertise at Wireless Security Forum 2004, the
nation's largest conference to focus on securing corporate
wireless networks and applications. Frankel will participate
in a panel entitled "Securing the Wireless Network." The pace
of 802.11 implementations has accelerated faster than the
knowledge of professional tools and practices needed to manage
and secure these networks. As the tech support guru and lead
system architect at AirMagnet, Frankel will offer insight on
the latest security and performance challenges facing wireless
network administrators, based on AirMagnet's more than 1,800
deployments.
-- Smart City Networks, the nation's leading provider of
temporary voice and data services, will use the AirMagnet
Handheld to monitor wireless traffic at the Wireless Security
Forum, guaranteeing Wi-Fi quality-of-service and security on
the show floor.
The AirMagnet Handheld allows Smart City to easily monitor the
health of every Wi-Fi-based channel and device at the Wireless
Security Forum. Smart City can survey the show floor as often
as necessary and create a channel plan for all of the
attendees. Furthermore, the company can use the AirMagnet
Handheld to walk the show floor and audit user compliance with
the channel plan it designed. Any problems that arise can be
quickly identified by the AirMagnet unit and resolved by the
team. The result is a network that performs securely and
reliably in the constantly changing wireless environment of
the trade show. Comments David Langford, director of data
services at Smart City, "(The AirMagnet handheld) does
everything that we were looking for and more -- it's the only
analyzer capable of handling the trade show environment."
