SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 2003

ACWA's 2003 Legislative Symposium and Day at the Capitol is June 10-11 at the Holiday Inn Capitol Plaza in Sacramento. Topics will include the state budget, water infrastructure bonds, tax policy and LAFCO LAFCO Local Agency Formation Commission

On tap to present at the Symposium are: Assembly Members Joe Canciamilla (D-Pittsburg), John Laird John Laird (14 June 1805 – 29 October 1874 ) was a Scottish shipbuilder and key figure in the development of the town of Birkenhead. He was the elder brother of Macgregor Laird. He was one of the first to use iron in the construction of ships.  (D-Santa Cruz), Doug LaMalfa Doug LaMalfa (born July 2 1960, Oroville, California) has represented California's 2nd Assembly District since December 2002. Assembly district includes Siskiyou County, Modoc County, Shasta County, Tehama County, Glenn County, Colusa County, Yolo County, Sutter County, and part of  (R-Richvale), Kevin McCarthy Kevin McCarthy may refer to any of the following individuals:

  • Kevin McCarthy (politician) (born 1965), United States Congressman from California
 (R-Bakersfield) and Senators Dick Ackerman (R-Irvine), Mike Machado (D-Linden), Charles Poochigian (R-Fresno) and Tom Torlakson Thomas A. "Tom" Torlakson (born 19 July 1949) is a Democratic politician from Antioch, California. He is currently serving his second and final term in the California State Senate. Torlakson represents the 7th District, which includes most of Contra Costa County.  (D-Antioch). Several other high-profile speakers, such as California Department of Finance The California Department of Finance is located in Sacramento, California. It is responsible resource allocation for the state’s annual financial plan. As part of the executive branch of the state, it is within the fold of the governor of California's administration.  Director Steve Peace, are also scheduled to present during the June 10 panel discussions.
