 10 and Commerce Bank ask you to celebrate the end of a century with a lasting act of charity, by giving blood at a special "Holiday Hero" blood drive on Friday, December December: see month.  31.

"Giving blood is truly a unique and lasting act of charity. You could touch up to three lives for the better with your one donation, and help up to three people fight a life-threatening illness," said Scott Murphy, MD, chief medical officer of the Penn-Jersey Region of American Red Cross Blood Services.

Holiday bloodmobiles will be held at eight locations in southeastern Pennsylvania Pennsylvania (pĕnsəlvā`nyə), one of the Middle Atlantic states of the United States. It is bordered by New Jersey, across the Delaware River (E), Delaware (SE), Maryland (S), West Virginia (SW), Ohio (W), and Lake Erie and New York  and New Jersey on December 31. For their convenience, donors are asked to schedule their donation in advance by calling the Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE LIFE.

NBC 10, the exclusive television partner of the American Red Cross "Holiday Hero Blood Drive," urges people to give blood the year round, but especially now, when donations are needed the most.

Commerce Bank asks donors to join the Commerce 2000 Club of volunteers who can be counted on to save lives now and through the year 2000 when the need for blood is urgent. Everyone participating in the December 31 blood drives will receive a Commerce 2000 T-shirt and "C" coin bank.

Most healthy people who are at least 17 years old and who weigh 110 pounds or more are eligible to give blood. In New Jersey, seventeen-year-olds must bring an American Red Cross parental consent Parental consent laws (also known as parental involvement or parental notification laws) in some countries require that one or more parents consent to or be notified before their minor child can legally engage in certain activities.  form signed by their parent or legal guardian to the blood drive. Federal regulations require donors to wait 56 days between donations. Please bring some form of ID.
