ADVISORY/7th Annual Salvation Army - Montgomery County Law Enforcement Food Drive Collects More Than 6 Tons of Food for Those in Need.

ADVISORY...for Fri. (Dec. 20)

EVENT:       The Salvation Army and more than 25 local law enforcement
             agencies, including the state attorney general's office,
             will team up to collect more than 6 tons of food at the
             7th annual Salvation Army - Montgomery Co. Law
             Enforcement Food Drive. This food collection, one of the
             largest in our region, will supply the Salvation Army
             Norristown Corps with food operations throughout the next
             year.

             A parade of police cars and motorcycles will lead a
             flatbed tractor-trailer, driven by retired officer Joe
             Bogden, loaded with donated food from the Norristown
             Borough Hall to the Salvation Army Shelter on Swede
             Street. The parade will feature Santa Claus (portrayed by
             Norristown Mayor, Ted LaBlanc), Elmwood Park Zoo's
             "jaguar" mascot, and McGruff the Crime Dog. Dozens of law
              enforcement officers, politicians, and government
             representatives will form a human assembly line to unload
             the trailer. The Salvation Army Band will be on hand to
             provide music and holiday cheer.
