Mayor Hahn recently announced Cisneros' classic novel is the selection for the city's second annual One Book, One City L.A. reading initiative. This is the first of 20 events - celebrity readings, book club, public discussions and theatre performances - that will take place throughout the month of April. The program and events are designed to build stronger neighborhoods by cultivating discussion among residents through the common bonds of reading.
