Show 2001, Unisphere Networks is demonstrating subscriber-based IP QoS for
data, voice and video services. Leveraging the new Intelligent Service Quality
of Service (IS QoS(TM)) technology in Unisphere Networks' ERX Edge Router to
create an IP Circuit, Multisystem Operators (MSOs) can offer customers enhanced
services, such as voice over packet, video-on-demand, gaming and local content
services, while also ensuring a service quality comparable to, or better than
their existing infrastructure. Around the world, providers of access
technology, such as cable, DSL and Ethernet are already reaping the benefits of
deploying next-generation services. Service creation, provisioning and billing
are crucial to the survival of MSOs in an increasingly competitive environment.
Unisphere Networks' Intelligent Service PoP (IS POP(TM)) is a product framework
that consists of a suite of award-winning products and services developed to
enable providers to more quickly create, provision, and market new
revenue-generating services, as well as the expected services their customers
demand. Voice over Packet Unisphere Networks is demonstrating its IS QoS
capabilities in a voice over packet demonstration that highlights the various
levels of service quality between existing voice over packet technologies.
Attendees will place calls and be able to distinguish the tangible difference
between legacy voice over packet infrastructure and Unisphere Networks' IS
Voice(TM) solution. Video/Gaming Unisphere Networks is also demonstrating the
effects of building an IP infrastructure capable of providing IS QoS on a per
subscriber basis. By customizing user profiles for each subscriber, MSOs gain
customer satisfaction by providing the appropriate levels of service for each
user on all performance-sensitive applications, such as video. Service
Management    In addition, Unisphere Networks is demonstrating its unique
Service Selection Center (SSC), a Web-based portal that enables the end user to
activate and control the services each desires. This enables MSOs to reap the
dual benefits of increased customer empowerment as well as reduced operational
expenses. The SSC manipulates the policies in the ERX and capitalizes on the
ERX's exclusive Subscriber-Class Based Queuing (S-CBQ) technology. During the
demonstration, users will experience how the policies are created, implemented
