WHO: Unisphere Networks, Inc., a leading provider of IP infrastructure products
to enable broadband data, voice and video services WHAT: Unisphere Networks has
been selected to display two demonstrations as part of the CCTA CableLabs
annual CableNET Exhibit at the Western Cable Show 2001. The two demonstrations,
"Multimedia Telecommunication" and "Voice over Cable/ PacketCable Compliant
Architecture" will explain to Multisystem Operators (MSOs) how to create,
deploy and reap the benefits of revenue-generating services across existing
cable connections. Cable Television Laboratories, Inc. (CableLabs) and the
California Cable Television Association (CCTA) seek demonstrations of new
technology and services to be included as part of the CableNET exhibit at The
Western Cable Show. Multimedia Telecommunications Services    Featuring
Unisphere Networks' Edge Router (ERX) and Service Selection Center (SSC), this
product exhibit demonstrates the potential of next-generation IP-based services
with simplified service creation, subscriber management and configuration. In
this context, cable providers must consider how to build a foundation from
which they can create a rich service environment that includes access to
multiple sources of content, applications and Internet access. Together, the
ERX and SSC provide a policy-based service creation and delivery system that
enables subscribers to dynamically select the services they want, and cable
operators to automatically provision and track service usage. Voice over Cable
using PacketCable Compliant Architecture Highlighting the Unisphere Networks'
SRX-3000 Softswitch, SMX-2100 Media Gateway, ERX and SSC, this exhibit
demonstrates how cable operators can leverage the strengths of an IP-based
network, while also preserving their investment in the existing cable
infrastructure. Exhibit visitors will be able to place packet-based voice calls
over a HFC network using IP, SIP and H.323 signaling protocols. Utilizing the
Subscriber-Based IP QoS functionality of the Unisphere Networks' product
family, an IP Circuit will be created across the network to deliver
