What:   Brian Silver, vice president of Voice Strategy, Unisphere
        Networks, Inc., will present "Looking Past the PSTN Gateway."
        Silver will examine characteristics of routers and IP
        applications that allow carriers to build effective Voice
        over IP networks. Solving the problem of mediating between IP
        and PSTN networks is only the first step; carriers also need
        to focus on the IP components that enable VoIP to function
        effectively.

        week at the Phoenix Civic Plaza in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

Who:    Prior to accepting his current position as Vice President of
        Voice Strategy at Unisphere Networks, Inc., Brian Silver was
        one of the original founders of Castle Networks, now a
        Unisphere Networks Company. As founding engineer of Castle
        Networks, Mr. Silver was responsible for Software Architecture
        and Implementation. Prior to this role, Mr. Silver held
        several positions at Digital Equipment Corporation, where he
        worked with Bellcore's SS7 system to support the
        implementation of 888 toll free calling, as well as various
        networking assignments for MCI and Netscape.  Prior to DEC,
        Mr. Silver worked at Cabletron Systems, DAZEL Corp., and IBM.
        A frequent speaker at industry events, Mr. Silver has
        extensive technical expertise in implementing embedded systems
        and operating system components for large, high availability
        systems.
