Seattle is pulling out all the stops for the 40th Anniversary of the most recognized structure in the city and to celebrate, this weekend the Space Needle Noun 1. Space Needle - a tower 605 feet tall in Seattle; a tourist attraction

 is hosting the fifth concert in its "Summer Sundays" series (which has just had an additional concert added on August 4).

On July 28, The Clarence Acox Sextet will entertain the crowd with its breed of "soul jazz Soul jazz was a development of hard bop which incorporated strong influences from blues, gospel and rhythm and blues in music for small groups, often the organ trio which featured the Hammond organ. ," several songs of which will be part of the group's tribute to Benny Goodman and Count Basie, both of whom performed at the 1962 World's Fair world's fair: see exposition.

 Jazz awards for "Best NW Recording" for both of its albums. The scheduled performance is a tribute to the jazz styling of the late `50s and early `60s. Although the band basically sticks to the fundamentals of classic jazz, it does have the depth of contemporary sounds in its musical repertoire.

The performance is part of the "Summer Sunday" concert series that has been going on for the last five weekends and has been based around a theme from the 1962 World's Fair. The idea of the celebration is to have some fun and enjoy the ruby ruby, precious stone, the transparent red variety of corundum, found chiefly in Myanmar, Thailand, and Sri Lanka and classified among the most valuable of gems. The Myanmarese stones are blood red, the most valued tint being the "pigeon's blood.  anniversary of Seattle's greatest attraction, the Space Needle.
