NEWS ANGLE: In his first major U.S. exhibit, South Korean-born
Dominican friar and artist Kim En Joong brings
his newest works from Paris to Grace Cathedral for
a first-of-its-kind exhibit in the Nave of the Cathedral.
VISUALS: 36 large paintings will be hung from 90 feet in the air,
suspended between columns within the magnificent Nave.
The exhibit opens May 16 and continues through August 15.
It is free to the public.
INTERVIEWS: Kim En Joong, who has lived and worked from a monastery
in Paris for the past 30 years, will be present for
interviews and questions. Accompanying him will be
Grace Cathedral's Dean Alan Jones and Cherie Newell,
director of the professional services division of the
Oakland Museum of California, which is responsible for
mounting the show.
