WHAT: The unveiling of "MAJOR," a unique, life-sized sculpture
of a Search and Rescue Dog designed by Major League
Baseball Design Services as part of the DOGNY Project.
Sponsored by the American Kennel Club, the DOGNY Project
will place up to 200 life-size dog statues in public
spaces throughout New York City. In December, the
sculptures will be auctioned off with all proceeds to
support America's Search and Rescue Dog organizations
including the NYPD Canine Unit. The DOGNY Program
commemorates the valiant efforts of Search and Rescue
Dogs and their handlers on September 11, 2001.
WHERE: The Plaza of 245 Park Avenue.
WHEN: Monday, September 16th at Noon.
WHO: On hand for the unveiling will be two of Major League
Baseball Top Dogs, Tim Brosnan, Executive Vice President,
Business and Tom Brasuell, Vice President, Community
Affairs, DOGNY spokesman, David Frei, head of the NYC
Canine Unit, Lt. Dan Donadio, NYPD Canine Unit Officer,
Frank Vallaro, Search and Rescue Dog Samson, NYPD
Representative, Gail Goglia and others.
