ADVISORY/ Intel Science Talent Search Brings Together America's Brightest; Young Scientists to Compete for $530,000 in Prizes.

ADVISORY... for Saturday-Monday (March 9-11)

WHAT:    The Intel Science Talent Search (STS) competition involving
         40 of America's brightest high school seniors is taking place
         this week. The competition is the nation's oldest and most
         prestigious science competition, and is often referred to as
         the "Junior Nobel Prize." Students will compete for
         scholarships and prizes totaling $530,000; the top prize is a
         $100,000 scholarship.

WHEN:    There will be a public exhibition of Intel STS student
         projects March 9 and 10 with opportunity for photographers,
         TV crews and for reporters to speak with finalists. There
         will be an awards ceremony the evening of March 11.

WHO:     Ceremony hosted by Craig Barrett, Intel CEO

WHERE:   Public exhibition: Saturday and Sunday, 1-4p.m.
         National Academy of Sciences, Great Hall*
         2101 Constitution Ave., N.W.
         Washington, D.C.

         Intel STS award ceremony (hosted by Barrett):  Monday,
          8:15-9:30 p.m.
         Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center*
         1300 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W.
         Washington, D.C.
