Robust stock market to benefit Portland area charities through innovative fund-raising effort.

All-Tech Direct, a Beaverton stock trading floor and trader training center, has announced plans to fund donations to five Portland area charities through the establishment of a stock trading account during the year 2000.

Mike Benson and Dave Niederkrome, All-Tech principals, said that funding for the "Community Direct Fund 2000" will be provided through profits from the account, which has been established exclusively for this fundraising effort. Profits from the account will be distributed equally among the charities on a quarterly basis. Benson said the five charities were chosen based on their focus of "helping people help themselves."
