OFC Optical Fiber Conference
 2004

--(BUSINESS WIRE)

Who: Picolight Inc.

What: Picolight will be displaying its comprehensive line of short-
and long-reach serial and parallel fiber-optic transceivers as
well as its OEngine(TM) laser and detector component family,
which the company launched in July 2003. The company also will
demonstrate its latest 4 Gbps Fibre Channel products including
        850nm and 1310nm VCSEL transceivers.

Topics Picolight will be available to discuss at the
        conference include:

-- Expansion of company's Extensus family with low-power,
single-mode enhanced small form factor pluggable (eSFP)
fiber transceiver modules that double system-density in
Fast Ethernet and SONET access applications. The modules
use 1310nm VCSEL technology to cut power consumption in
half as compared to competing devices, while delivering
up-to-40-kilometer reach, ultra-low jitter and enhanced
            diagnostics features.

-- New product directions including 10Gbps and extended-reach
            applications up to 80km.

-- Participation in 10Gbps XFP module interoperability
            demonstrations.

-- Continued rapid emergence of the 4 Gbps Fibre Channel
interconnect market, where key trends include: performance
increases in line with customer expectations, rate agility
            and backward compatibility.

-- The implications of market consolidation and vertical
integration in the maturing fiber-optic interconnect
market, as exemplified by Picolight's entry into the laser
and detector component segment during 2003 as a strategic
complement to its foundational fiber-optic transceiver
business, and key cross-licensing agreements that
            Picolight executed in 2004.

Where: Demonstrations and briefings will be conducted throughout the
        conference at Picolight's booth, #3620.
