Nova Southeastern University President Ray Ferrero, Jr., (center), receives the Southeast Florida Library Information Network (SEFLIN) Horizon Award, from SEFLIN executive director Tom Sloan (right). Joining President Ferrero was Donald E. Riggs, NSU's Vice President for Information Services and University Librarian (left). Ferrero was honored for his successful efforts in partnering with Broward County in the construction of NSU's five-story Library, Research, and Information Technology Center, a 325,000 square-foot, joint use facility. The largest library in the state will provide the entire Broward county community accessibility to 1.4 million volumes, 20 electronic classrooms, computer laboratories, state-of-the-art technology demonstration areas with 1,000 user seats, all with Internet connection, and a 500 seat perfoming arts theatre. Completion of the high-tech library is scheduled for fall 2001.
