ADVANSTAR LAUNCHES WEB SITE FOR PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY.

Advanstar Communications (New York), through its Pharmaceutical Executive (PE) magazine, has launched Healthcare Marketing and Media (http://healthcareandmedia.com), a new Web site targeted to marketing and media executives involved with consumer advertising, physician advertising and other marketing and media for pharmaceutical brands.

The new site, launched on Jan. 10, includes daily updates on breaking news stories in the marketing and media community, Advanstar said. It includes sections titled "Agency action," "Media Updates," "People/Placements/Promotions" and "Interactive" as well as areas on pharmaceutical company campaigns and news. The site also carries interviews, opinions and commentaries.

PE publisher Tom Larranaga said the site "allows us to reach our audience of monthly PE readers on a daily basis and to provide them with the news and resources they need to make strategic marketing decisions." The site "adds strength to the PE franchise and bolsters our position in the marketplace," he said. Advanstar also publishes such related titles as Applied Clinical Trials, Biopharm and Pharmaceutical Technology.
