ADVANCED GAMING TECHNOLOGY INC. ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Gaming Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: AGTI) announced that the acquisition of American Multi-Systems of Ramona, Calif., is now complete. AMS provides the most advanced video bingo technology for a fixed-base sytem in the marketplace today. The acquisition of AMS positions Advanced Gaming Technology Inc. as the only company that can provide both a fixed-base and portable electronic bingo sytem to the world marketplace.
The company also announced that Richard Fedor has joined the company as president and chief executive officer and that Clarence Thiesen has joined the company as chief financial officer. Both these individuals bring to Advanced Gaming Technology a vast experience of leadership from corporate America and more specifically extensive knowledge and contacts in the gaming industry.
Fedor received his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1973. His experience includes 10 years at Hewlett Packard in various senior management positions, with responsibilities in corporate, manufacturing, international, marketing, finance and administration areas. Fedor was recruited to join telecommunications giant General Telephone and Electronics (GTE) as director of Materials/Assets. He then was asked to take over the Corporate Purchasing Organization as director.
He was then recruited to International Game Technology (IGT) as Operations vice president. IGT is the leading manufacturer of microprocessor-based gaming and lottery equipment in the world. He successfully implemented a major restructuring program which substantially increased margin and productivity, while significantly reducing inventory. This led to IGT being honoured by the State of Nevada with the "Manufacturer of the Year" Award. His efforts helped lay the foundation for a very successful turnaround.
His most recent experience was as president of Zygo Corp. the leading manufacturer of high-performance, laser-based non-contact electro-optical measuring instruments and accessories. He turned around a poorly structured high technology company which had substantial operating losses. His efforts resulted in 17 consecutive quarterly improvements in operating profits/losses, including 1991's 62 percent increase.
Thiesen, graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1958 with an MBA. The early part of his business career was spent at Varian Associates, where he rose from division controller in 1966 to director of financial analysis and budgets in 1980, when he left the company. Thiesen then joined Lear Fan Ltd. as chief financial officer, where he raised over $100 million in financing for the company in one year.
From 1982 to 1986, Thiesen was vice president of Finance for International Game Technology where he was responsible for improvements in accounting data collection systems and computerized manufacturing control systems which resulted in dramatic cost savings to the company. Thiesen was also responsible for the budgeting and financial projections, training of senior financial management, supervision of acquisitions, equity offerings and contacts with the banking and investment communities.
In 1987, Thiesen joined Keno Computer Systems, a development stage software company as president. From 1988 to 1992, Thiesen was vice president of Finance for Zygo Corp. where he restored the company to profitability by increasing sales by over 50 percent.
Advanced Gaming Technology Inc. is the designer and manufacturer of ElectroBingo. ElectroBingo is a computer-based bingo system with portable player handsets and stationary units with sophisticated communications technology. ElectroBingo provides both the player and the bingo hall operator with numerous advantages over the traditional paper bingo format.
