ADVANCED CONCEPTS CENTER, QA TRAINING AND NETG TEAM FOR INFRASTRUCTURE TRANSFORMATION SERVICES.

World San Francisco as backdrop, the Lockheed Martin Advanced Concepts Center(tm) (ACC(tm)), QA Training Ltd., and National Education Training Group (NETG) unveiled a strategic partnership introducing an integrated technology transformation program. The program, designed to help organizations migrate to object technology and client/server systems, combines a client/server reskilling program offered by QA, NETG's extensive media-based training courses in client/server and object technology, and the ACC's broad-based object technology migration and knowledge transfer services.

"This alliance will dramatically increase the ability of companies to successfully apply object technology to client/server implementation projects," pointed out Hugh Bishop of the Boston-based Aberdeen Group. "This is especially important since the role of organizational infrastructure issues in the successful implementation of these technologies is often overlooked."

The partnership allows comprehensive training solutions to be delivered by some of the world's most experienced advanced technology instructors using highly interactive media-based training. This is integrated into curricula designed to orient information technology organizations to the newest object-oriented and client/server technologies. This will help organizations to:

-- Integrate object technology and client/server reskilling and implementation, capitalizing on the synergy between these technologies;

-- Incorporate a mentoring program focused on co-sourcing as an integral part of their technology transition plan;

-- Identify new roles, responsibilities and procedures for IT organizations, to enable them to exploit new technology initiatives; and

-- Set up an internal infrastructure to implement objects and plan for effective re-use, while deploying systems using a client/server architecture.

This partnership also will facilitate broader access to these technology transfer services for QA's, NETG's, and the ACC's extensive customer base both in the U.S. and around the world. "The biggest holdup in making the move to client/server and object technologies is a lack of skilled IS staff," observed Jim Watt, managing director at QA. "This partnership provides a powerful springboard for leaping over that hurdle."

In addition to providing their current clients with access to products and services, the ACC, QA, and NETG will initiate joint marketing and sales activities designed to attract new customers. The companies will also be combining their courseware in object and client/server technologies, and will jointly develop new courses that combine training in client/server technology with object technology. In addition, QA will be fully integrating ACC courseware into its range of client/server reskilling services, both in the U.S. and globally.
