ADVANCED BIOLOGICAL SYSTEMS TO OPEN AIDS TREATMENT CLINIC IN LONDON,
WILL ALSO TREAT SELECTED PATIENTS FREE IN RESEARCH STUDY
SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Biological Systems Inc. (OTC) announced today it will open a clinic in London to specialize in the research and treatment of disorders of the human immune system, including AIDS. The company will also re-locate its international office from Zurich, Switzerland to London.
Controlled studies involving patients residing in close proximity to the London clinic will be conducted at no cost to the participating patients as part of on-going research to validate scientifically the effectiveness of the non-toxic Roka Treatment in restoring the vitality of patients suffering from AIDS.
According to Emanuel A. Floor, president and CEO of Advanced Biological Systems, the company has selected a multi-story clinic in the medical district of London's Harley Street and plans to sign a three-year lease. Floor said the clinic lease will include six licenses for medical practice.
In addition to the controlled studies, Advanced Biological Systems expects to begin treating patients with immune deficiency problems in mid-to-late January using plant-based therapeutics developed in Switzerland by Dr. Jozsef Roka, as well as other medical treatments used to combat immune system-related illnesses. In August, the company disclosed that some 70 of Roka's AIDS patients had shown significant improvement while preliminary toxicity tests indicated no adverse side effects.
The new clinic will also house Advanced Biological Systems' international office and serve as research headquarters for Europe, the United Kingdom, and other areas. The office will supervise the compilation of existing Roka patient data and co-ordinate clinical trials in various locations.
Floor noted that the new London clinic reflects of the company's dual strategy of offering treatment programs as quickly as possible through clinics in areas where the company is now permitted to operate while simultaneously developing tests and clinical data necessary for formal government approvals in other jurisdictions such as the U.S.
Advanced Biological Systems, Inc., which holds exclusive rights to test and market Roka's plant-based pharmaceuticals throughout the Western Hemisphere and other selected regions of the world, is a publicly-held Delaware corporation. The company is engaged in the delivery of care for immune deficiency conditions through treatments which include plant-source products known as phyto-pharmaceuticals. Corporate offices are located in Salt Lake City.
