Brasil Telecom S.A. (NYSE:BTM; BOV: TEPR4), Brasilia, Brazil, the third largest telecommunications company in Brazil, has provided a Storage Networking solution to the Brazilian Central Bank (the Brazilian institution corresponding to the Federal Reserve). This solution connects the Bank's two data centers with optical fibers, allowing the Bank's information to be stored in one data center in case some damage is caused to the other center.

This Storage Networking solution is the first big-sized project to be used in Brazil. The technology, DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing), is provided by Adva Opticals, a global provider of optical networking solutions based in Germany, which is the European market leader. Adva Opticals is starting activities in Brazil through a partnership with Brasil Telecom S.A.
