"We found that more than 70 percent of our customers were using our TSU 100 and the DSX-1 option module to connect PBXs to this T1 DSU/CSU. The new TSU 120 provides a cost-effective means for this connection as well as additional room for the expandability needed to perform a variety of other applications," ADTRAN Vice President of Marketing Danny Windham said. The ADTRAN TSU 100 is a T1 DSU/CSU that accepts up to one application-specific plug-in module and accompanying plug-on board which allow the connection of several different devices to a T1 or Fractional T1 line. The TSU 120 accepts one module and an accompanying plug-on board in addition to providing the PBX interface. With a list price of $1,995, the TSU 120 is available immediately. The option module available for use with ADTRAN's TSU 100, TSU 120 and TSU 600 T1 Service Units allow the user to connect equipment for LAN/WAN LAN/WAN Local Area Network/Wide Area Network bridging, videoconferencing, network backup and a variety of other voice and data applications. The amount of bandwidth allocated to each application is programmable with an easy to follow menu system. All ADTRAN TSUs provide a base V.35 interface that can be configured to operate synchronously at Nx56 or Nx64 where N equals 1 to 24.
