Featured will be ADTRAN's Total Access(R) 608, a Carrier Class Integrated Access Device An IAD is a customer premises device that provides access to wide area networks and the Internet. Specifically, it aggregates multiple channels of information including voice and data across a single shared access link to a carrier or service provider PoP (Point of Presence).  (IAD), which allows quick installation and immediate revenue generation for carriers deploying converged network services using TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) A technology that transmits multiple signals simultaneously over a single transmission path. Each lower-speed signal is time sliced into one high-speed transmission.  or packet-based VoDSL. Service providers can offer bundled voice and data services, based on VoBB technology that now incorporates the new worldwide DSL DSL

At the showcase, ADTRAN and Jetstream will demonstrate how the Total Access 608 interoperates seamlessly with the Jetstream CPX-1000 to provide a complete end-to-end packet voice solution. The Total Access 608 supports SHDSL and is powered by chipsets jointly developed by Infineon Technologies and ADTRAN. SHDSL is an ideal solution for service providers deploying VoDSL solutions because it offers the greatest industry-standard combination of rate, reach and spectral compatability.

"The DSL Forum offers a unique opportunity for vendors to come together to create interoperable solutions based on industry-standard DSL technologies," said Everett Brooks, Director of Market Development for ADTRAN's Enterprise Networks Division. "Visitors to the DSL Forum Booth will see the benefits of using these standards to develop flexible, robust applications such as the innovative VoDSL solution that ADTRAN and Jetstream will jointly demonstrate."

"We are excited to participate in this joint demonstration, the first-ever for a VoBB solution using SHDSL," said Stephen Gleave, vice president of marketing for Jetstream. "ADTRAN and Jetstream, as members of the DSL Forum, are committed to ensuring interoperability between our products, and others in the industry, and thus making installation and deployment of VoBB solutions as easy as possible for service providers and enterprise customers."

ADTRAN, Jetstream, and Infineon's memberships in the DSL Forum reflect their commitment to helping promote industry-standard DSL technologies. Each company pursues industrywide interoperability in order to develop versatile solutions for multiple applications.
