ADTRAN, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADTN) introduced today its new MX2800, an M13 multiplexer providing intelligent redundancy and T3 bandwidth consolidation for the ultimate in efficient networking. Entering the market at the lowest price and with the smallest footprint in the industry, the MX2800 provides a unique 1:1 protection system that eliminates network disruption for equipment repair.

Measuring only one rack unit high in 19-inch or 23-inch rackmount configurations, this modular device consolidates 28 T1 signals or 21 E1 signals into a T3 circuit. The MX2800 houses two hot-swappable controller cards that are capable of combining independent T1s, E1s, or T1s and E1s on the same DS3 circuit. A fully connectorized backplane means no wire wrapping and quick and easy installation. As with all ADTRAN products, the MX2800 also offers comprehensive management options.

The MX2800 will be available in product quantities in October 1999 for a list price of $5,995 for a fully redundant DC version.
