ADTRAN has held ISO certification since 1993. The move to TL 9000 3.0 is another milestone in ADTRAN's ongoing commitment to quality throughout its business and manufacturing operations. "ADTRAN is committed to deliver quality products and services to our customers at reasonable prices," commented Ed Rohlfs, ADTRAN vice president of quality. "We have led the way in the development of industry standards for quality through groups such as the QuEST Forum for many years. Attaining this registration is yet another achievement for ADTRAN and embodies our commitment to quality for both the telecommunications industry and our customers."

The TL 9000 standard was developed by the Quality Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications Leadership Forum (QuEST Forum), a consortium of over 100 suppliers and service providers in the telecommunications industry. ADTRAN was a founding member of the forum and continues to play a major role in the development of new standards. The purpose of TL 9000 is to define the telecommunications quality system requirements for the design, development, production, delivery, installation, and maintenance of products and services. Included in TL 9000 are performance-based metrics that measure reliability and quality performance of the products and services. The goal of these requirements is continual improvement in the telecommunications industry, resulting in potential cost savings for suppliers and service providers, and improved performance to end users of telecommunications services. TL 9000 3.0 incorporates all of the requirements of ISO 9000:2000, the latest set of ISO requirements. For more information on the QuEST Forum, see the QuEST Forum web site at www.questforum.org or contact Jeff Weitzer, QuEST Forum Marcom Manager at 414/765-8672.
