), a leading provider of network access equipment, today announced Kevin Schneider, ADTRAN's Chief Technology Officer, has been named co-chair of the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions The Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) is a standardization organization that develops technical and operational standards for the communications industry. ATIS' ofices are located in Washington, D.C. in the US.  (ATIS ATIS - A Tools Integration Standard ) IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) Also called "TV over IP," IPTV delivers scheduled TV programs and video-on-demand (VOD) via the IP protocol and digital streaming techniques used to watch video on the Internet.  Exploratory Group. The group of subject matter experts has been formed to identify and examine deployment issues and establish recommendations supporting the advancement of IPTV.
