), announced today the availability of its Total Access(TM) 3000 system through Walker and Associates, one of the country's largest CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier) An organization offering local telephone service that is not one of the traditional telephone companies. The Telecommunications Act of 1996 allowed competition to the incumbent telcos (ILECs), enabling new companies (CLECs)  equipment suppliers. The Total Access 3000 system is ADTRAN's broadband Carrier Class integrated access device An IAD is a customer premises device that provides access to wide area networks and the Internet. Specifically, it aggregates multiple channels of information including voice and data across a single shared access link to a carrier or service provider PoP (Point of Presence). .
