ADTRAN, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADTN), the market leader in Enterprise Integrated Access Devices (IADs), today announced the selection of its ATLAS 550 as the required wide area network (WAN) emulation tool for the Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) level of the Cisco Networking Academy program. Cisco Academy instructors will use the ATLAS 550 to emulate Frame Relay, ISDN, and analog wide area networks for hands-on lab exercises utilizing Cisco routers.

Academy instructors teaching the CCNP program will have the option of creating their own WAN lab exercise in addition to the standard course lab provided by Cisco Academy. CCNA Academy level instructors can also utilize the ATLAS 550 to emulate Central Office delivery of WAN services. Currently there are over 3,900 locations worldwide teaching CCNA, CCNP, and other Cisco Academy courses.
