Academy instructors teaching the CCNP program will have the option of creating their own WAN lab exercise in addition to the standard course lab provided by Cisco Academy. CCNA Academy level instructors can also utilize the ATLAS 550 to emulate Central Office delivery of WAN services. Currently there are over 3,900 locations worldwide teaching CCNA, CCNP, and other Cisco Academy courses.

The ATLAS 550 is a modular, six-slot integrated access device. The multiservice IAD can function as a Frame Relay switch/concentrator, ISDN/analog switch, and a TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) A technology that transmits multiple signals simultaneously over a single transmission path. Each lower-speed signal is time sliced into one high-speed transmission.  access multiplexer.
