ADS Improves USB Hub With Unique Industrial Design and Develops a Hub Docking Station.

CERRITOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 1999--ADS Technologies Inc., the leading provider of USB USB
 in full Universal Serial Bus

Type of serial bus that allows peripheral devices (disks, modems, printers, digitizers, data gloves, etc.) to be easily connected to a computer.
upgrade solutions, has updated their USB Hub A device that increases the number of USB ports on a PC. However, since the hub plugs into one of the USB ports on the computer, the total number of additional ports is minus one. For example, a four-port hub adds three new ports.  with the new USB Ultra Hub 4 that has an enclosure design with extensions in the back to prevent tipping.

Current hubs are at risk of tipping over when more than one cable is connected. But with the Ultra Hub 4, connectors and cables are moved towards the units' center of gravity improving the stability of the hub.

The USB spec has also been updated to revision 1.1. ADS has worked closely with Texas Instruments See TI.

The Ultra Hub 4 is self-powered (ships with power supply) and is both PC and Mac compatible. New packaging will display the Windows 98 logo, the Mac logo and the "Works with iMac" logo.

Estimated street price is $49.

The Docking Station contains three USB Ports, a 9 Pin Serial port and a printer port. This is a self-powered hub and includes an INTEL USB controller and microprocessor. It is the only USB product on the market today that is marked "INTEL USB Solution."
