The new version offers Java(TM) capabilities, a VAT refund module, enhanced credit card reconciliation and email enabled management reports, in addition to numerous other enhancements. Version 5 will be available to e-XPENSE(SM) Services clients in the fourth quarter of 1998.

Java also allows users to access expense reports using a corporate intranet or Internet web browser.

"As this industry matures and users become more technologically savvy, our customers expect greater flexibility and customization. We recognize that Java can provide the versatility our customers need; that's why we made it our front-end module," said Robert Brandes, vice president and general manager of ADP e-XPENSE Services. Brandes added that Version 5 is available in both Java and as a WindowsTM-based program.

As the first automated expense reporting system to offer a fully integrated VAT Refund Module, e-XPENSE Version 5 allows effortless reimbursement of Value Added Taxes paid while traveling in Europe and Canada. Once an expense report is submitted, e-XPENSE automatically identifies VAT eligible receipts, tracks them and generates ready-to-sign VAT refund forms.

Accounts payable departments will benefit the most from enhanced versions of credit card reconciliation and email enabled management reports. The credit card reconciliation module compares expense reports and credit card statements so that all expense items are properly billed, while the management reports module allows accounts payable to email customized reports to specific employees and groups.
